WHAT IS AN ATM?
Awareness-Through-Movement Class’ ?
It is where an accredited ‘Feldenkrais Method’ Practitioner guides an individual, or a group of individuals, through a series of scientifically designed movement patterns. Guiding the individuals through a process of exploration and curiosity involving awareness and attention. The lessons involve gentle, sensory, exploratory movements which make the lessons suitable to persons of ALL abilities and ALL ages. Many lessons take place on the floor on mats, or on chairs, or in standing. Loose comfortable clothing is recommended and to wear layers, your comfort is important, so the idea of layers is that you can put on or take off (cardigan etc) if feeling hot or cold.

As new patterns of movement and stimulation are introduced to our brains and our bodies, the old habitual patterns that may no longer serve us, become interrupted, the new easier and more fluid patterns become stronger, which in turn leads to Greater Ease of Movement, Thinking and Being.
